One of the most promising is Power over Ethernet (PoE), which allows a single network cable to carry both data and electrical power. Another major trend is the potential rise of fiber optic connectivity directly to the medical device. Because fiber optic cables are made of glass, they are inherently galvanically isolated and do not require a separate isolator.
